Teacher training to become a fully certified Pilates instructor

At Copenhagen Pilates Studio you can fulfill your dream to become an internationally recognized Pilates instructor. Located in central Copenhagen, our studio has the latest Pilates equipment in a beautiful, quiet space where we offer the acclaimed BASI® Pilates instructor teacher training courses which was developed over a time period of almost 29 years by no other than Rael Isacowitz who founded the BASI® Pilates in 1989. All the lecturers of BASI® Pilates training courses are part of the international BASI® faculty selected and mentored by him.

Rael is the co-author of “Pilates Anatomy” which he published together with Karen Clippinger, as well as author of the famous book “Pilates” and many other defining publications on Pilates over his career. Karen Clippinger herself is one of the regular international lecturers at Copenhagen Pilates Studio.

BASI® Pilates teacher training courses offer a solid, sound foundation for instructors of all aspects of Pilates. Included in the course, whether it is a mat or full studio equipment course, is a detailed set of workbooks as well as study guides authored by Rael Isacowitz. In all BASI® Pilates courses we are preparing future generations of instructors to pass on the principles of mental and physical well-being in the spirit of Joseph Pilates and at the same time include modern scientific knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics.

The BASI® Pilates lectures will take place in Copenhagen Pilates Studio as well your training, observation hours and teaching practice. This gives you the opportunity to study with some of the most experienced and skilled teachers in Denmark, and to develop practical, hands on skills in the studio. If you are not based in Copenhagen you may complete your course training requirements at other BASI® approved studios.

Upon completion of all course requirements, you receive an internationally recognized certification as a Pilates instructor, which gives you the opportunity to teach anywhere in the world. As a BASI® Pilates graduate you are eligible to take the PMA Certification exam.

We offer two forms of the BASI® Pilates teacher training courses:

• Comprehensive Teachers Training Course (CTTC) – which includes all the training on all the main Pilates equipment, as well as the Pilates mat work including small equipment.
• Pilates Mat Work Teacher Training Course (MTTC) – which focuses on the core Pilates mat work but includes “small” equipment such as the Magic Circle.
