We are proud to announce, that Karen Clippinger will be returning to Copenhagen, Denmark, following the great success of her last visit in 2017. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn from a leader of the Pilates field. The workshops are open for Pilates instructors of all backgrounds. Suitable for both matwork instructors and studio instructors. Make sure to register early, as this is a course with only 20 participants.
Karen Clippingers lifelong work has focused on application of scientific principles to enhance alignment and movement performance while lowering injury risk. She has given over 375 presentations all around the world plus taught workshops at numerous universities including Stanford University and Cornish Institute of the Arts just to mention a few.

Low Back Pain & Pilates: Flexion Based Programs (3 hours)
Low back pain is prevalent and the same Pilates exercise can aid or aggravate different clients. This workshop will focus on understanding the common low back conditions of lumbosacral strain, spinal stenosis, and spondylolisthesis, as well as why spinal flexion can aid and spinal extensions aggravate them. Participants will learn novel Pilates-based exercises and modifications for classical Pilates exercises designed to build necessary three dimensional core strength that emphasize flexion and neutral positions, while avoiding excessive spinal hyperextension.
Low Back Pain & Pilates: Extension Based Programs (3 hours)
This workshop will focus on understanding the common low back conditions of disc injury, flat back, and osteoporosis, as well as why spinal flexion can exacerbate these conditions. Participants will learn novel Pilates-based exercises and modifications for classical Pilates exercises designed to build necessary core strength to promote a healthy back that emphasize the use of extension and neutral positions, while avoiding excessive flexion.
Core Stability Advancements and Applications to the Pilates Reformer (6 hours)
Research has advanced our understanding of core stability and how to optimize its training. This workshop will provide exercises designed to effectively develop core strength through higher intensity overload, as well as exercises with large exercise balls and rotator discs on the reformer to develop proprioceptive aspects of multi-planar core stability.
Time: 10-17.00 both days
Each workshop is 6 hours. This includes a 1-hour lunch break; lunch is not included in the price.
1 day: DKK 2.400 (euro 325 )
